A dice game of skill, and a little luck, that is played in the bars of the Far East. Its named after a delicacy - fertilized duck eggs - that is often consumed while drinking in said establishments.

The goal of the game is to optimally fill out a score pad with certain dice combinations in order to gain the highest score.

Balut is now OpenFeint enabled.

Pros and cons of Balut app for iPhone and iPad

Balut app good for

The game is similar to yahtzee, but it doesnt have all the scoring methods and the game takes a little longer since theres 4 chances for u to get all 7 options . Its a little dull though, not very flashy and amazing. And theres only one gameoption; play. Also; about, rules, and some other thing.
Enjoyable and addictive. Similar to yahtzee. Would be neat if there was a global high scores list.
Well written and good fun to play, but missing Choice,, and most of all the Jackpot option,,, that would make it perfect!!!!!
Good game but need to add the Jackpot option for the game. That would make it perfect.
I just noticed that the app is getting inundated with full screen ads. Ive informed my ad provider about my concerns. They said they were aware of the situation. In the meantime, Ive doubled the time between ads. Lets see if that lessens the annoyance factor a bit. Pardon me a moment, while I shed a tear or two for all that lost revenue. Darn shame. It felt good to get some acknowledgement for all the work :) Ideally, I really wish I could set it up so that it displays a single ad for an entire game. But that doesnt seem realistic - virtually no one clicks on any of the ads. How does everyone feel about making the app paid only? Philosphically, Im opposed - but Im running into a Tyranny of the Commons type of situation here.
I gave this game five stars, because it seemed silly not too. (But really Im writing this review in response to what 491X2 said.) For being an excellent, and portable, representation of the Balut dice game, this game deserves to be played. Ive been having lots of fun with the game, and would recommend it to others. Ill click on an ad now and again, just because it seems like the right thing to do. This game is not Yahtzee(tm), nor is it meant to be a clone. Strange how some of the better ad supported free games, like this one, are ones that Id be willing to pay for. While some of the not so good, (read as: crappy,) $0.99 cent games, I wouldnt bother playing even if they were free.

Some bad moments

I usually dont write bad reviews but up until the last update, I thoroughly enjoyed this app. But with the last update it seems to always go to some video advertising in the middle of a roll. This has made me upset so I have removed the app. Someday when it removes that stupid issue I might try it again but until then not on my I touch will it be.
